Ever-present Sissoko: 'We are together and we want success'

Moussa Sissoko hopes consistency on a personal level can aid an upturn in league form for the team.

The France international midfielder has started all 10 Premier League games so far this season, but some frustrating results have left him determined to do more.

“If you ask any player who is playing every game if he’s happy, you know the answer,” he said. “I’ve played every league game since the start of the season, so yes, I’m happy about that.

“Like always, I give my best for the team and that’s what I will always do, like every player, until the end of the season.

“We are together and we want success together. Of course, the results in the last few weeks haven’t been great for us, but that’s football, that’s life.

“Sometimes it can be like this and we have to work our way through it, stick together and I’m sure good things will follow soon. Hopefully, that will start against Everton next weekend.”

Harry Kane’s predatory instincts gave us a lightning-quick start in the first of two consecutive trips to Merseyside on Sunday, but relentless league leaders Liverpool eventually turned things around in the second half to win 2-1.

“We lost, but we can take some positives,” said Moussa. “We started well, took the chance to score an early goal and maybe after that, we dropped too deep and so they were pushing.

“We defended well and Paulo (Gazzaniga) made some good saves. They had the possession and maybe we could have done better with the ball but we lost, we’re disappointed and now we need to see what we can do better for the next game and be ready for Everton, because this game will also be tough.”
