Spurs Women v Arsenal Women – travel update

Thu 14 November 2019, 17:42|Tottenham Hotspur

Supporters attending Tottenham Hotspur Women’s huge north London derby with Arsenal Women on Sunday (kick-off 3pm) are asked to note the following travel information when planning their visit.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is a public transport destination served by four stations and three high frequency train services. There are extensive on-street car parking controls in the vicinity of the stadium and these strict measures will be fully operational.

The A406 will be closed westbound at the Angel Road flyover this weekend, with one eastbound lane also closed. This will cause significant delays on all main approach roads and surrounding local roads.

Major roadworks are also currently ongoing on Watermead Way, near IKEA, causing congestion on the roads for fans and local residents exiting or coming back into Tottenham post-match.

We strongly advise supporters not to drive to the match on Sunday.

Trains

All services are shown on www.nationalrail.co.uk but will not appear in the TfL journey planner.

White Hart Lane

Special arrangements for the London Overground services to and from White Hart Lane station are in place for this fixture with additional trains increasing the service to six per hour in both directions for two hours before and after the match. The extra services will run between Liverpool Street and Enfield Town stations.

Fans intending to travel through White Hart Lane station should note that the station is now fully accessible. Please bear with us as we allow the new station operations to bed in. Although the station has been upgraded, the new rolling stock has not yet been introduced and train capacity remains the same.

Northumberland Park

All Greater Anglia trains will stop at Northumberland Park and Tottenham Hale stations.

Supporters are advised to use Northumberland Park, which is closer to the stadium than Tottenham Hale, and will be served by eight trains an hour in both directions for three hours before and after the match.

The first train from Liverpool Street will depart at 11:37. The first stopping service from Cambridge departs at 10:51 and arrives at Northumberland Park at 11:58.

All Stansted Express trains will stop at Northumberland Park. The last train from Northumberland Park will depart at 20:05, after which the station will close. The last Cambridge train will leave at 19:41.

Tottenham Hale and Seven Sisters

Although extensive construction works continue around Tottenham Hale station, train services are still fully operational. Please follow the advice offered by stewards.

Tottenham Hale station has new accessible facilities with a link bridge and lifts, creating a wheelchair accessible option for fans travelling to and from central London.

A normal service on the Victoria line will be in operation, offering 27 trains per hour in each direction before and after the match. All trains will stop at Tottenham Hale and Seven Sisters stations. Supporters are advised to take the shorter walk from Tottenham Hale, rather than Seven Sisters.

Prior to the match, a diversion route is likely to be in place for the interchange from the Victoria line to London Overground at Seven Sisters, which will result in some delays. Supporters are advised to walk to the stadium from Seven Sisters rather than change services.

Stratford

There are no trains on Sunday to and from Stratford station due to engineering works. Supporters from Essex and East London will need to travel via Liverpool Street.

Meridian Water

The new Meridian Water station will be closed on Sunday.

Post-match

Queue systems will be in place at all four stations and some delays should be expected at White Hart Lane and Northumberland Park immediately after the final whistle. Delaying your departure from the stadium by half an hour will likely avoid any need to queue. The Kosovo v England men’s match (kick-off 5pm) will be shown on all concourses after the match.

Cycling

Supporters wishing to cycle to the stadium can access full information on the Cycle Superhighway route and where bicycles can be parked here.

Additional travel options

The Club is operating Shuttle Bus services from both Alexandra Palace station (Great Northern Line) and Wood Green station (Piccadilly Line), but the Premium Shuttle Bus from Tottenham Hale will not be running.

Fans can also book onto our Regional Coach service that serves a number of destinations within Spurs supporter heartlands.

All fans that now book onto a coach service will receive a free official matchday programme on arrival at the coach park in Tottenham.

Please note, services will now depart from the coach park 45 minutes after full-time instead of one hour.

Please note, our full matchday road closures and Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) will be in operation for this fixture. We strongly encourage fans not to drive and assess all public transport options before travelling.
