Juan Amoros in Spain: ‘We want to play attractive football and entertain our fans’

Spurs Women Head Coach Juan Amoros says that the team are looking forward to the challenge against Real Betis in tonight’s semi-final of the Ramon de Carranza Trophy (kick-off 9pm UK time).

The squad arrived in Cadiz on the west coast of Spain yesterday afternoon as preparations continued for this evening’s semi-final against Betis, who finished sixth in the Primera División last season.

It is the first time that women’s teams have competed in the Ramon de Carranza Trophy as the tournament marks its 65th anniversary this year.

The winner of tonight’s match will play Athletic Club (Bilbao), after they secured their place in tomorrow’s final at Ramon de Carranza Stadium, following a narrow 1-0 victory over CD Tacon last night.

Juan said: “The main thing for us is to show that we are a competitive team and a solid unit. We want to play attractive football and entertain our fans and what better occasion to do this than here in Spain at the Ramon de Carranza Stadium.

“I’m expecting a very tough task against Real Betis. They play a different style of football to the teams we have faced in England so for us it will be a big challenge but it’s something that we are all really looking forward to.”
