Mauricio joins city traders to raise money for Noah's Ark

Mauricio Pochettino yesterday (Tuesday) put his trading skills to the test at the annual BGC Partners and Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day to help raise money for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.

The BGC Partners and Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day is held each year in memory of the 658 people who lost their lives in the World Trade Centre attacks in 2001. Staff commemorate those who died by raising funds for charitable works worldwide and since it started in 2005, the charity day, which takes place in London and New York, has raised approximately $147 million.

This year’s event raised money for charities including Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, the Club’s Official Charity Partner, which supports children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions across North London. Our partnership helps to raise awareness of the charity and drive the recruitment of volunteers via high profile events and the support of our players, coaching staff and Ambassadors.

Mauricio joined other well-known celebrities including Nicole Scherzinger, Damien Lewis, Tom Hardy, Holly Willoughby, Jimmy Carr and Bill Nighy to give a helping hand on the trading floor and speak to clients over the phone.

He also met with the Zenonos family who are supported by Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice. Eight-year-old Laya was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy when she was 10 months old, and since then her and her two siblings have been supported by the charity.

Mauricio said: “It’s important to come together on the anniversary of 9/11 and remember those who lost their lives, while raising money for important charities such as Noah’s Ark. The money raised from today’s event will make a huge difference to so many children with life-threatening conditions across North London.”
