International call for Spurs Ladies' trio

Fri 02 November 2018, 17:17|Tottenham Hotspur

Three players from our table-topping Spurs Ladies squad have been selected for international duty.

Rianna Dean has been called up for a training camp by England Under-21s. The 22-strong squad, introduced for the current season, will be based in Warwick and will train at St. George's Park between 4-7 November.

The striker, just turned 20, also trained with the squad last month.

Rianna has scored eight goals in six matches to fire Spurs to the top of the FA Women's Championship.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Emma Gibbon and defender Megan Wynne have been selected for the senior Wales squad for a double-header of friendly matches against Portugal.

The first match is at the Municipal Stadium, Rio Maior on Saturday week (10 November), the second at the Municipal Stadium, Cova De Piedade on Tuesday 13 November.

"These call-ups are fantastic for the club," said manager, Karen Hills. "To have a player in England Under-21s and two in the senior Wales squad illustrates the level we're now at and how we've progressed.

"They deserve the recognition, as do all the players. They've all worked incredibly hard."

Huge game for Spurs on Sunday

Spurs Ladies face a FA Women's Championship blockbuster on Sunday when they travel to Manchester United.

Both teams are unbeaten - Spurs have a perfect six out of six wins to top the table, United have won four and drawn one of five.

They meet at United's home of Leigh Sports Village, Sale, kick-off 12noon.
