Teams representing Spurs performed admirably at the Premier League Primary Stars tournament - with Weston Park Primary School making it all the way to the final.

Formally the Premier League Schools Tournament, the Primary Stars tournament is an annual event established in 2006 giving participants the chance to experience the life of a Premier League footballer for a day.

Weston Park were joined by Rhodes Avenue Primary School at Leicester City's King Power Stadium on Wednesday after qualifying through regional events with the finals held at our world-class training facility, Hotspur Way.

Rhodes Avenue were runners-up in the group stage of the Under-11 girls competition. They beat Liverpool in their opening match and followed up with a win against Watford and a draw against group winners West Ham, but it wasn't enough to progress to the final despite that fine effort.

Weston Park topped their group without conceding a goal in the Under-11 mixed competition. They opened up with a goalless draw against Watford followed by win against Liverpool, Palace and West Ham.

The semi-final against Swansea was a thriller that remained goalless after extra time and went all the way to a penalty shoot-out that the Weston Park youngsters eventually edged 13-12.

It was Spurs against Chelsea in the final, refereed by Premier League official Kevin Friend.

Weston Park conceded their first goal of the tournament in the final and despite battling to the end, couldn't find an equaliser.

Nevertheless, reaching the final is a huge achievement with over 1,600 schools initially entering the tournament.

You can watch highlights of the event on BBC's MOTD Kickabout programme on the CBBC channel at 7.45am on Saturday.
