Tour 2018 - Darren and Ledley visit San Diego Zoo

Thu 26 July 2018, 15:31|Tottenham Hotspur

Darren Anderton and Ledley King visited the world-famous San Diego Zoo on Wednesday.

The Zoo was founded by Dr Harry M. Wegeforth back in 1916 and is now home to over 3,500 species and 700,000 exotic plants.

Our legendary former players and Club Ambassadors were lucky enough to get up close and personal on their way around the huge 100-acre complex.

That included a special moment where they were able to tempt over one of the giraffes to feed - the rattle of biscuits in a bucket proving too tempting!

From there, Darren and Ledley were lucky enough to see one of the pandas have a roam around Panda Canyon, a lion fast asleep, a leopard prowling, elephants and orangutans up close in the Lost Forest area.

At the end of the tour, Darren and Ledley were introduced to one of the Zoo's many ambassadors - a tamandua (anteater) named Jamaree.

They also had the chance to see a stick insect up close - a New Guinea Walking Stick - although neither were too keen to hold it!
