Tour 2018 - a night to remember for young footballers in LA

Young footballers enjoyed the experience of a lifetime at our Open Training session in Los Angeles on Friday.
Twelve players were selected from over 1,000 in our elite player development programmes across San Diego, Orange County and LA.
Those 12 players were invited to LA to watch training from pitchside, meet manager Mauricio Pochettino and our legendary former captain Ledley King and will attend our International Champions Cup (ICC) match against Barcelona at the Rose Bowl.
Andy Rogers, Head of Global Football Development, said: “It’s an incredible achievement for the 12 players and we wanted to do something different, something special and it has been a phenomenal experience for them.
“Our aim here is to coach and develop as many players as possible and then create a lifetime opportunity. That’s what we’ve done for these guys - pitchside for a training session, the chance to speak to Mauricio and Ledley and then watch our match against Barcelona.
“This was an important part of our work on this Tour. The reaction has been fantastic and I believe widens our footprint even further in America.”
Our Global Football Development team – Andy, Chris Gillman, Danny Hart and Aaron Tillbrook – have coached, engaged and impacted over 2,000 young players in the Los Angeles/San Diego leg of our USA Tour.
