Harry Kane has been voted 2017 Vauxhall England Men’s Player of the Year.

The striker was the clear winner after polling 75 per cent of votes from members of the England Supporters Club.

Harry, 24, scored seven times in six England fixtures last year including a late winner against Slovenia at Wembley to secure the Three Lions' place in this summer's FIFA World Cup in Russia.

He also struck late to rescue a draw against Scotland in a thriller at Hampden Park in World Cup qualifying in June - the first of four occasions he's now captained his country. Harry currently has 12 goals in 23 caps.

Harry said: "It’s always special to represent your country so to be voted as England’s best player of 2017 from such a talented squad is a real honour after what was a memorable year for me personally.

"To play your part in reaching the finals of a World Cup is every young footballer’s dream and I’d like to thank all of my international teammates for the part they played in that journey.

"However, I’d especially like to thank the Three Lions’ fans for their fantastic support both at Wembley and across Europe. Now here’s to an exciting summer in Russia."

This is the latest accolade for our Academy graduate who retained the Premier League's Golden Boot last season, toppled Alan Shearer's record for PL goals in a calendar year with 39 goals to Shearer's 36 and scored most goals for Club and country (56) across Europe's five big leagues.

He's also moved into our all-time top 10 goalscoring list and become our record goalscorer in the Premier League, his goal against Southampton on Sunday taking him to 99 having toppled Teddy Sheringham's 97 against Everton on January 13.

To be voted as England’s best player of 2017 from such a talented squad is a real honour after what was a memorable year for me personally.
