'Amazing' is how Harry Kane summed up our qualification for the next stage of the Champions League.
We secured our spot in the last 16 of European football’s elite club competition following our 1-1 draw against Barcelona at the Nou Camp and Inter’s draw with PSV.
Having only taken one point from our first three group stage games, we had faced an uphill battle to qualify for the knockout stages but, after wins over PSV and Inter, as well as the point picked up at the Nou Camp, we did enough to earn our place in the next round.
Harry has certainly played his role in helping secure our progress as he bagged four goals along the way and then provided a delightful assist for Lucas Moura’s crucial equaliser against Barca.
It’s amazing... an amazing achievement for the Club
The England captain admitted that the group stage had been a real test for the squad but he was delighted with how we turned the campaign around and is now really excited for the next stage.
“It’s amazing, an amazing achievement for the Club,” Harry smiled.
“It was a tough group. Last year was great, this year we were up against it after three games and to turn it around in the way we did is fantastic.
“It’s a great achievement and now we go for the next one. We’ll celebrate this but come the new year we’ll want to progress and see how far we can go.”
