Fan behaviour - Carabao Cup quarter-final v Arsenal
Tue 18 December 2018, 10:00|
Tottenham Hotspur
Local derby matches are always passionate affairs and it is important that supporters play their part on these occasions by getting behind the team in a positive way and making them memorable for the right reasons.
We have enjoyed some unforgettable north London derby encounters over the years and the vast majority of fans have generated incredible atmospheres on these occasions.
However there were incidents in our most recent Premier League fixture against Arsenal earlier this month where a small number of supporters of both sides behaved unacceptably.
Ahead of Wednesday’s Carabao Cup quarter-final tie we wish to remind supporters travelling to Emirates Stadium that any kind of racist, discriminatory or anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated by the Club.
As a club that has suffered from abuse in the past from opposition supporters, we wish to make clear that there is absolutely no place for this kind of behaviour in or outside of football.
The Club does not tolerate discrimination of any sort, on the pitch or in the stands, and both the police and ourselves shall take action against anyone behaving or using language that is abusive, offensive or obscene.
Should you witness any such behaviour, please report this to the Club. We shall have stewards present at Wednesday's game in the away end all wearing high-vis yellow jackets with our stadium brand identity clearly visible on them who you can notify or, alternatively, you can message us on 07537 404821.
For our staff, it is better to monitor the problem as it is happening so we ask that you raise any issues with us as soon as they happen in order for us to deal with them promptly.
You do not have to put up with mindless supporters who are intent on ruining your experience with us – use the system, report the individuals and let us take it from there. We will treat any information in the strictest confidence.
We hope all those who are travelling to Emirates Stadium on Wednesday have an enjoyable evening.
