Son qualifies for gold medal match

Heung-Min Son is one victory away from glory in the Asian Games after skippering South Korea to victory in Wednesday's semi-final clash with Vietnam.

Attacker Sonny completed the full 90 minutes as his side registered at 3-1 win at Pakansari Stadium in Bogor, Indonesia.

Lee Seung-woo netted either side of a goal from tournament top scorer Hwang Ui-jo as South Korea raced into a 3-0 lead inside 55 minutes.

Vietnam did manage to pull one back through Tran Minh Vuong's free-kick 20 minutes from time, but Sonny's side staved off any comeback to secure a place in the gold medal match on Saturday.

They'll face the winners of Wednesday's other semi-final between Japan and United Arab Emirates.

Kick-off back at Pakansari Stadium will be at 6.30pm local time (12.30pm UK).
