Ledley celebrates successful summer holiday programme

Tue 21 August 2018, 20:01|Tottenham Hotspur

This summer, the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, in partnership with Haringey Council, has delivered free football coaching sessions to over 60 children aged between seven and 16 in the Borough.

To celebrate the success of the programme, Club Ambassador Ledley King paid a visit to New River Sports Centre, where he met youngsters and offered them words of advice and encouragement. Ledley helped deliver a series of shooting, passing, tackling and dribbling drills, before helping Tottenham Hotspur Foundation coaches run a friendly five-a-side match.

Ledley said: “Having a safe space where children can go and play sport during the summer holidays is so important. It not only improves the youngsters’ physical and mental health, it keeps them off the streets helping to reduce levels of anti-social behaviour in the area. It’s been fantastic visiting the summer holiday programme today and seeing so many kids learning new skills and improving their game.”

This week, coaching sessions are happening at New River Sports Centre (White Hart Lane, Wood Green N22 5QW) tomorrow, Thursday and Friday between 10am – 12pm and 4pm – 6pm. Places are still available. To sign up, please call the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation on 020 8365 5138 or email foundation@tottenhamhotspur.com
