Trippier salutes 'unbelievable' Kane

Tue 23 May 2017, 11:35|Tottenham Hotspur

After two seasons playing alongside Harry Kane, Kieran Trippier says he fully appreciates what all the fuss is about when it comes to the England hotshot.

Academy graduate Harry burst onto the scene with 31 goals in all competitions during his breakthrough campaign in 2014-15, while Kieran himself picked up his first experience of Premier League football at Burnley.

Now, two years since switching to north London and having supplied his fair share of assists as Harry has claimed back-to-back Golden Boots in the top flight, Kieran has summed up his free-scoring team-mate in two words: “He's unbelievable!”

After watching Harry clock up his 35th goal of the season to complete his fifth hat-trick of 2016-17 at Hull City on Sunday, Kieran explained: “When I first came to the club I knew what he was all about and it's well deserved when you look at how hard he works at the training ground.

“After training as well he stays behind, doing shooting practice all the time.

“He fully deserves his Golden Boot and hopefully he'll get a third one next season.”

Sunday's 7-1 thrashing of already-relegated Hull took our final Premier League points tally up to 86. Looking back on the campaign overall, Kieran added: “It's been a fantastic season when you look at the points, the way we've played and our defensive record.

“We've had two great seasons on the bounce now and hopefully it will continue.”
