New balls please! Local youngsters get a unique opportunity

The Premier League last night launched its new Nike hi-vis ball at one of our Kicks sessions held at Duke’s Aldridge Academy adjacent to our new stadium development.
It meant local young people in Tottenham were the first to get their hands on the new ball, which will be in use in all Premier League matches from this Saturday.
The Club has successfully run Premier League Kicks at a number of venues across North-East London for 11 years, providing young people living in some of the area’s toughest neighbourhoods with free evening sports sessions aimed at preventing crime and anti-social behaviour.
Ledley King, our Club Ambassador, has been heavily involved in this work since the beginning and joined young people at last night’s session with the new ball.
He was accompanied by four members of our Development Squad - Kazaiah Sterling, Keanan Bennetts, Samuel Shashoua and Oliver Skipp - who demonstrated their ball skills.
Ledley said: “It’s great for us to be able to provide such unique opportunities to local young people living right on our doorstep.
“Young people who attended our Kicks session last night were able to test out the new Premier League Nike ball before any of the professional players - that’s quite something!
“The ball itself looks great and I think everyone at the session enjoyed using it, as well as meeting some of our young players.”
