Nelson Mandela

The Club was saddened to hear of the passing of Nelson Mandela on Thursday evening.

Mr Mandela, the first black President of South Africa, passed away at the age of 95. His strength, courage and integrity has been an inspiration to millions during the course of his extraordinary life.

We have enjoyed a long relationship with South Africa and have strong established links ongoing -  to all of our South African supporters, all around the world, Mr Mandela's family and the wider nation, our condolences on the passing of a remarkable man.

There will be a minute's applause ahead of tomorrow's game at Sunderland and at all Premier League matches this weekend and Monday.
