My First Spurs Christmas - Kieran Trippier
18 December 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Catching up with our recent signings to find out about their plans for the festive period and how they’ve celebrated in the past. Today, right-back Kieran Trippier.
Previous clubs: Manchester City, Barnsley (loan), Burnley.
Apart from training, what will you do on Christmas Day?
I’ll just be relaxing with the family so it'll be great. My fiancée’s family are coming down to see us so we'll all spend some time together and enjoy the festivities.
How does this differ from past Christmases for you?
When I was at Burnley I didn't live too far from my brother's place and also my mum and dad's so I always used to go around there – that was always fun. This year I've got my parents coming down for the New Year so again we'll be able to spend time together and, as I said, my partner's family will be visiting at Christmas so that'll be great too.
What is traditional at Christmas in your family?
Nothing too unusual. We just spend time relaxing, opening presents and enjoying each other's company.
What is your favourite festive meal?
Definitely the traditional Christmas turkey. And it must have all the trimmings!
What do you wish for at Christmas?
It's always been a win on Boxing Day in previous years and it's no different now – three points against Norwich please...
What was your most memorable gift as a child?
I got loads of stuff! There were some fantastic presents over the years but if I had to pick one I'd say my first PlayStation.
