Three goals in two games has certainly put a spring back in the step of Mido.
The striker netted his first of the season with a brilliant winner on the turn against West Ham at the Lane on Sunday before topping up his tally with a further two as MK Dons were defeated 5-0 in the Carling Cup on Wednesday.
The Egyptian international suspects it is a case of having pretty much reached full match fitness - something that was missing when he returned to the Club ahead of a busy period at the end of August without any competitive action under his belt.
"I had couple of chances in the game before that I missed and I was really disappointed about it," Mido recalled. "That is football and when you get a goal it goes from there and I hope I can carry on.
"It is about confidence, finding the net gives you that.
"I was unlucky when I came in that Dimitar Berbatov was injured and I had to play straight away. I would have preferred to have taken it step by step, but I had to play three games in eight days and it wasn't easy for me.
"Now I feel sharper and it will hopefully stay that way. I think I am close to 100 per cent and it is about getting a good run - if you score six or seven goals in four or five games then it means you must be in top shape."
A short trip to Vicarage Road looms on Saturday as the boys seek to extend their unbeaten run to seven games and secure a first Premiership away win. Mido suspects it will be far from a straightforward assignment.
"Watford are a good team, I saw them play against Manchester United and they really gave them a hard time. I am expecting a very tough game, they are strong physically and play a little bit like Bolton.
"We will have to watch out, but we are on a good run and looking to pick up our first away win in the league."
