Legends on Video: Erik the Viking

Fri 26 July 2002, 12:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Erik Thorstvedt could could have been a Gunner - thankfully he joined us and reaped the benefit in our memorable 1991 FA Cup run.

Big Erik, standing 6ft 4ins tall, had a trial with Arsenal before joining IFK Gothenburg before finally arriving at the Lane in 1988.

One of the early and most successful Scandinavian exports in English football, Erik went on to play over 200 games for us before leaving in 1994.

He was in goal that famous Gazza day when we beat our neighbours in the semi-final at Wembley and followed up against Forest in the final.

We caught up with Erik after our last game of last season against Liverpool.
