Kevin Stead

Fri 29 January 2016, 07:00|Tottenham Hotspur

We were sorry to hear of the recent passing of our former player Kevin Stead who died at home in Dagenham following illness on January 19. He was 57.

Kevin, a versatile player who could operate in defence or attack, was born in West Ham and brought up in Custom House. As a youngster he attracted interest from a number of top clubs but opted to join our youth set-up in the early 1970s, following his older brother Micky to White Hart Lane.

He moved to Arsenal in July, 1977, where he made his Division One debut and subsequently played for Oxford City.

We extend our sincere condolences at this sad time to his wife Sharon, daughters Rebecca and Vicky and brothers Michael and Mark.
