John Bostock scored twice as our reserves toppled an Under-19 team from South African Premiership side Platinum Stars 3-2 in a training ground friendly at Spurs Lodge on Tuesday.

Both were fine strikes as the midfielder dispatched a free-kick in the first half before matching that with a curler from the edge of the area into the top corner in the second half.

We went ahead as early as the second minute when Ricardo Rocha headed home from a corner and Bostock soon made it 2-0 but our youthful opponents did not lose heart and fought back for 2-1 in the second half.

Bostock's second made it 3-1 with 15 minutes left before Platinum Stars' second consolation made it a final 3-2 scoreline.

"Platinum Stars were youthful, lively and had a couple of good technicians but we controlled the game and were comfortable enough," reported Development Coach Clive Allen. "It was all about match practice for us and in that respect it was ideal."

Spurs: Jansson, Hughton (Mtandari, 70), Berchiche, Dervite, Rocha, Fraser-Allen, McKenna (Maghoma, 46), Bostock, Hutton, Barcham, Taarabt (Hutchins, 70).
