'I don't need to explain how we feel, the fans will feel the same' - Eric Dier

Eric Dier didn’t need to explain a thing after defeat at West Ham.
“We feel the same way as the fans, I don't think I need to explain to them how we feel because they will feel the same way,” said the midfielder after our excellent winning run of nine straight in the Premier League ended in a 1-0 loss at the London Stadium.
“I think they can tell that this group of players is giving everything for the Club and everyone is disappointed because we know the only chance we had was if we won every game and that came to an end tonight.”
It was a tough one to take on a number of levels, not just the derby defeat on the night and all that entails, but the chance to peg leaders Chelsea back to one point.
Eric revealed ‘no-one has said a word’ through disappointment in the dressing room and then reflected on the game, won by Manuel Lanzini’s goal in the 66th minute.
“We had a few chances all at once in the first half, the keeper made a couple of good saves but after that we didn't create anything really and ended up conceding a very sloppy goal and after that, it was difficult,” he added.
“I think we approached the game well, we just lacked a bit of intensity and decisiveness at times and we didn't create enough chances for the possession we had.”
The players now have a week to prepare for a monumental last home game of an outstanding Premier League campaign next weekend as we face Manchester United in the final match at White Hart Lane.
“Our aim was to win every game until the end of the season, that's gone now and from Monday we'll be ready to go again,” he said.
“Nothing changes. We will try to finish strongly and after the way we finished last season, we want to put that right this season. We need to bounce back and finish the season strongly.”
