Huddersfield 0-4 Spurs - Mauricio's reaction
30 September 2017|Tottenham Hotspur
Mauricio Pochettino praised the ‘collective effort’ of the players after completing a hat-trick of away wins in a week at Huddersfield on Saturday.
A huge seven days kicked-off at rivals West Ham and a 3-2 win last Saturday before a midweek trip to Cyprus and 3-0 win against APOEL in the Champions League.
Having arrived home in the early hours of Wednesday morning, the players were ready for the 12.30pm start against a tigerish Terriers team and did the damage with a three-goal spell in the space of 15 minutes in the first half.
Harry Kane struck twice and Ben Davies once in that spell and a perfect afternoon was completed when Moussa Sissoko scored his first goal in Spurs shirt in added time for a 4-0 final scoreline.
That made it seven successive away wins in all competitions – a run that started at Leicester at the end of last season – and six on the trot in the Premier League, our best away sequence in the Premier League era.
“It makes us very proud because we worked so hard to keep pushing,” said Mauricio.
“The performance was so good but the effort too…the effort to play three away games in a row. They deserve a lot of praise because it was a big collective effort.”
As was the case at West Ham, our goals arrived in quick succession. Where it was two in four minutes last weekend, it was three in 15 minutes this time around to put us in complete control.
“We were so clinical,” added Mauricio. “It’s true they started well and until today they had only conceded three goals. For us, it was a big challenge to break down their defensive line and the way we played and the way we dominated was fantastic.”

“Last season he was important for us and he’s starting to feel well and we’re so happy because he can help the team.”
Mauricio on Harry Kane
“It’s so hard to find the words to describe him. I’m so happy he’s on our side.”

“Moussa is doing very well. We’re so happy with him. He’s enjoying it, his self-belief is so high now and we hope he keeps that same level for the rest of the season."
