Glenn's pre-match interview

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Glenn Hoddle is expecting two testing friendlies in South Africa - he wouldn't want it any other way.

We fly to Johannesburg on Wednesday night for the tour including pre-season friendlies against South African champions Orlando Pirates in Durban on Saturday and Kaizer Chiefs in Cape Town on Tuesday.

As the national team proved against England in May - when they pushed Sven Goran Eriksson's men all the way in a 2-1 defeat - South African teams are no pushovers on home soil.

Indeed, the experts we've spoken to here on to preview the tour - the likes of Gary Bailey and Gary Mabbutt - have warned that we are in for two tough tests against teams who would love to take a Premiership scalp.

Boss Glenn stated: "The games are very important and they are right in the middle of our pre-season preparations.

"We know we will have two good matches and difficult games because when they are playing at home, both Pirates and Chiefs will he high-quality opposition. But that's what we want from this trip.

"We play Orlando Pirates first. We haven't seen too much of their performances, obviously, but we know they have some very good internationals, they are the current champions and we are expecting a very, very tough game.

"They have a good support base and good experience in there - a few players played for South Africa against England recently.

"We know the Chiefs are a massive club in South Africa as well. These are probably the two biggest clubs in the country and they will provide high-quality opposition.

"As I said, This is a very important time for us. It will be the full squad, everyone fit and able will be travelling and we're all looking forward to it."
