Fredi denies Mali link

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Fredi Kanoute has distanced himself from reports that he could join up with Mali for the African Nations Cup next year - missing five Spurs games along the way.

Mali manager Henri Stambouli quoted his interest in our in-form striker in a couple of newspapers this morning.

But Fredi, pre-selected for last week's French squad for their Euro 2004 qualifier against Israel insisted this afternoon: "I honestly don't know where this has come from. They should have contacted me."
