Chris Hughton pens his end of term reports looking back on the performances over the squad over season 2006-07...Hossam Ghaly: We asked him to make progress from last season and he did that and you can see that from the games he played, he scored goals, made goals, won a couple of penalties and contributed to the team.

Steed Malbranque: A versatile player, strong and I still think there is more to come from him. It was his first season with us and he missed the first part through injury. A valuable member of the squad and he'll score more goals. Trains hard and a tough individual.

Jermain Defoe: In the goals again and has a wonderful record, always a threat. He wants to play every game and occasionally gets frustrated when he doesn't, but you wouldn't take it any other way because he's such a good lad. A lot of the spotlight has been on Robbie and Berba because they finished the season so well but he's as good as anyone around.

Michael Dawson: A very popular lad and I can't speak highly enough of him. To play the number of games he played last season season, to train every day and everyone wants it for him because he's such a good and dedicated lad. He's also developed as a player. As centre-half, it's a position you grow into because it's a generally a position of experience and he's gained a lot of experience this season. He's still young but plays with an old head. He made mistakes, as did everyone else, but he's always straight up again. He made such a big contribution. In a season where we've had injuries at the back - Ledley, we didn't have Rocha then, Anthony Gardner - Daws has been arguably our most important defender.

Tom Huddlestone: Tom made a big contribution. With Didier Zokora coming in the summer it was always going to be difficult for Tom having to fight to get a place for himself. If I look at the games he played there's no doubt he caught the eye. He scored a great goal up at City. He’s as good a passer as there is around for such a young lad and the good thing is that he still wants to learn. He's the last off the training ground and we've done a lot of work with him, especially on his finishing.

Jamie O'Hara: He's been in a lot of squads and it's been frustrating for him because he loves playing and it's unfortunate because of the players we've got that he hasn't played a bigger part. Our position at the start of the season was for him to be involved in the squad, that hasn't translated into games, but he's certainly been involved.
