Danny Rose knows Sunderland better than most – and he says we can’t underestimate them on Saturday.
Our left-back, who this week returned to the Training Centre following international duty with England, spent the 2012-13 season on loan at the Stadium of Light.
And although the North-East club has undergone some changes since his time there, Danny knows our hosts will be keen to avoid a repeat of the heavy defeat we inflicted on them back in April as Gus Poyet’s men go in search of goals.
“It will be a hard game, as they always are up there,” said the 24-year-old. “They have changed a lot of personnel since I was there but I think it will be a different game to the 5-1 victory we had at White Hart Lane last season.
“Our goal as a team, no matter who we play against, is to try and keep a clean sheet and we’ll be looking to try and rectify our result and performance against Liverpool.”
