Captain Kane rescues a point for England against Scotland

Sat 10 June 2017, 19:45|Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane marked his first game as England captain with a dramatic late equaliser against Scotland on Saturday.

The striker proudly led out the Three Lions alongside three team-mates - Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Kyle Walker - in the World Cup qualifier at Hampden Park. In doing so, he became the ninth Spur to captain England.

Harry had a couple of half-chances as England looked in control in the first half. Scotland improved after the break but it was no surprise when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain rifled home the opening goal on 70 minutes.

However, the game turned around completely in a thrilling finale. Celtic's Leigh Griffiths curled home two free-kicks in the 87th and 90th minutes to give Scotland a 2-1 lead.

Just when it looked like England would suffer defeat, Harry was fouled on the edge of the box, Eric's free-kick was palmed away by Craig Gordon, play continued, Raheem Sterling crossed and Harry volleyed home at the far post, three minutes into added time.

England maintain their place at the top of WCQ Group F with four matches remaining - they will take place in September and October.
