Cameron joins graduation celebrations at the Lane

23 March 2017|Tottenham Hotspur

Cameron Carter-Vickers joined students from the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation’s degree programme for a special graduation ceremony at White Hart Lane.

Fifty young people who enrolled completed their studies this year, with 85 per cent of graduates achieving a 1st or 2:1.

The Foundation Degree offers students the opportunity to gain higher level education and professional skills within a Premier League club, with courses including Applied Sport and Community Development; Applied Football Coaching and Performance; and HND Stadium and Event Management.

Graduates and their families were treated to a three-course meal at the stadium, before a presentation ceremony which involved the USA Under-23 international handing out certificates and prizes.

Speaking at the ceremony, Cameron said: “It’s great to be able to meet students from the Foundation Degree and learn about the hard work that goes on behind the scenes.

“They’ve been given a fantastic opportunity to be able to study at White Hart Lane and get a qualification from the Club and I wish them all the best for the future.”

Sophia Bowes, Head of Higher Education, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, said: “The Foundation Degree provides students with unmatched support, top quality facilities and a unique higher education experience.

“After developing new skills on their courses and through placements with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, they are now in an excellent position to enter employment.”

Full-time Foundation Degree courses are £6,000 for the upcoming academic year – £3,000 less than most universities and the application process is currently open through UCAS. Each course is developed in consultation with employers, helping to ensure students gain the skills, knowledge and experience needed to progress straight into employment.
