An audience with the King

Around 150 fans were given an early Christmas present this week when Ledley King attended the 100 Club on Oxford Street for a live Q&A on his illustrious career.

The event was a live recording of the popular Spurs Show podcast, hosted by broadcasters Phil Cornwell, Theo Delaney and Mike Leigh, that will air over Christmas.

In an hour-long session, Ledley regaled the audience with tales from his playing days at the Club and some of the characters with whom he shared a dressing room.

A highlight was his recollections of playing alongside Edgar Davids, saying: “I just loved being in the tunnel before the game and looking at the opposition players’ faces when they saw Edgar lining up –he was such an icon at the time.”
