Davinson Sanchez sees his move to Spurs as 'a massive opportunity'.

The Colombian international defender has completed his move to the Club from Ajax, subject to receipt of his work permit later this week. He's signed a contract until 2023.

Davinson made 47 appearances for Ajax last season and won the club's ‘Rinus Michels’ Player of the Year Award in his only season at the club - an award previously won by Jan Vertonghen (2012) and Rafa van der Vaart (2002).

Davinson, welcome to Spurs. How does it feel to be here?
Davinson: "Thank you. This is a massive opportunity for me because of what Tottenham represents, not just here in England but around the world."

It’s a huge step forward in my career and will allow me to continue developing and achieving big things. This is a great chance.

What do you know about Spurs?
Davinson: "This is one of the biggest clubs in the league. We can compete on any level and with any team. We’re going to be aspiring to achieve big things. The project is very interesting and being able to work with players of this calibre gives you an opportunity to develop individually too. I think that when the whole group improves, so too do the individuals."

How would you define yourself as a player?
Davinson: "Well, I’m strong in the tackle and I always try to play proper football. I think that those are my main characteristics. I think everybody knows what I can become and what I can bring to the club, such as my pace and my mental strength. I think that makes me a player that can make a big contribution for Tottenham."

Do you have a message for the Spurs fans?
Davinson: "I want to say hello to everyone and thank you for the welcome I’ve received. Thank you for making me feel like I’m part of this club. You’ve made me feel like an important player and I already feel at home here. Thanks for everything. Come on you Spurs!"
