Spurs v City - Mauricio's preview

Sat 14 April 2018, 11:00|Tottenham Hotspur

The eyes of the world of football may well have been on Manchester City this week but, as always, Mauricio Pochettino only has eyes for his team as we prepare for a huge game at Wembley this evening (7.45pm).

City have lost out to Liverpool in the Champions League and neighbours Manchester United in the Premier League in the last 10 days.

By contrast, we’ve won our last six on the trot and are 14 unbeaten in the Premier League.

However, City remain 13 points clear and need two more wins to secure the title.

The obvious question - is this a good time to play Pep Guardiola’s men?

“You never know,” said Mauricio. “Every game is always different.

“We’re playing a consistent team like City, a team that deserves to be at the top because they’ve played fantastic football, had fantastic results and a fantastic season.

“The most important thing is to be focused on the way we want to play, try to be better than them and in the end deserve the three points.

“In the race for the top four, it would be a massive three points for us.

“It will be tough to play against them but we need to be focused on ourselves and try to play our game, to be strong. It will be tough and at the same time, exciting.”

A reminder that we kick-off at 7.45pm this evening.
