Mauricio, Christian, Jan and Sonny vie for Premier League awards

We've a clutch of nominees for January's round of monthly awards from the Premier League.

Unbeaten in five top flight matches and seven in all competitions throughout the month, impressive home victories over Everton and Manchester United were particular highlights.

As a result, Mauricio Pochettino has been shortlisted for the Barclays Manager of the Month award, joining Swansea City's Carlos Carvalhal, Manchester City's Pep Guardiola, Bournemouth's Eddie Howe, Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool, Jose Mourinho of Manchester United and David Moyes of West Ham as nominees.

Midfield magician Christian Eriksen, who opened the scoring in the 2-0 victory over United on January 31 after just 11 seconds, and in-form centre-back Jan Vertonghen are two of the six nominees for EA Sports Player of the Month, while Heung-Min Son's thunderbolt at home to West Ham and Christian's deft finish to an excellent team move to round off the scoring against Everton are in the running for Carling Goal of the Month.
