Jan, Christian and Victor collect end-of-season awards

Sun 13 May 2018, 18:42|Tottenham Hotspur

Jan Vertonghen was presented with the Player of the Season award after a crazy finale to the Premier League season at Wembley.

The Belgian central defender was forced to withdraw from the starting line-up after picking up a calf injury in the warm-up on Sunday, but was back out to soak in the adoration of our fans inside the national stadium after we edged out Leicester City by the odd goal in nine.

Named Player of the Season by One Hotspur members and official Supporters’ Club members, Jan collected his trophy from Tony Baylis, a One Hotspur member and Season Ticket Holder, in front of the dugouts before the players and coaching staff embarked on a lap of appreciation.

Christian Eriksen was also rewarded for a fine season with the One Hotspur Junior members' Player of the Season award, collecting his prize from One Hotspur Junior member Luke Canning.

Victor Wanyama picked up Goal of the Season for his thunderbolt in the 2-2 draw at Liverpool earlier this year. Samir El Boustani from our official Lebanon Supporters’ Club was on hand to present the award.

Some players took their children with them on the subsequent lap of appreciation around the outskirts of the Wembley pitch as a hard-fought season came to a happy end under the arch.
