1981 Gordon Smith scores his only goal for Spurs in a 4-2 defeat at West Bromwich Albion. Mark Falco also on target.
1998 Jurgen Klinsmann scores four times in a 6-2 win over Wimbledon to help us stave off any danger of relegation.
3. TUESDAY
Alex Pritchard’s 23rd birthday.
1997 Espen Baardsen makes his Spurs debut at Anfield where Dean Austin plays his last game for us. We lose 2-1 with Darren Anderton our scorer.
4. WEDNESDAY
1963 Jimmy Greaves grabs a record 37th goal for the season in our 4-2 home win over Sheffield United.
1988 Clive Allen, Steve Hodge and Johnny Metgod play their last game for the club. Gary Mabbutt and Hodge score as we beast Luton Town 2-1 at the Lane.
5. THURSDAY
1962 We retain the FA Cup with a 3-1 win over Burnley at Wembley. Danny Blanchflower (penalty), Bobby Smith and Jimmy Greaves share our goals.
1986 Tony Galvin hits a hat-trick as we beat Southampton 5-3 at White Hart Lane. Clive Allen and Chris Waddle also net.
6. FRIDAY
1953 Future Scottish international Graeme Souness (pictured below) born in Edinburgh and would join us as an apprentice in April, 1969.
1961 We complete the Double with a 2-0 FA Cup Final victory over Leicester City. Bobby Smith and Terry Dyson score.
7. SATURDAY
1911 We play a North German Combined XI in Hamburg and win 4-1.
2006 Chasing a Champions League place we lose 2-1 at West Ham after a stomach virus sweeps through our squad.

1934 England international centre-half Maurice Norman born in Mulbarton, Norfolk, and would join us from Norwich City in November, 1955.
1979 Mark Falco scores on his debut at Bolton where we win 3-1. Jimmy Holmes also nets in what proves to be his last game for Spurs. Gordon Smith plays his first senior Spurs game with Ricky Villa our third marksman.
9. MONDAY
1949 We travel to Penzance to take on a Cornwall County XI in a friendly and return with a 2-0 win. Charlie Rundle and Les Medley score.
1966 Terry Venables makes his Spurs debut at Blackburn Rovers where we win by the only goal. Jimmy Greaves is the scorer.
10. TUESDAY
1982 Goalkeeper Tony Parks plays his first senior game for Spurs – a 2-2 draw at Upton Park. Garry Brooke and Glenn Hoddle (penalty) hit the back of the Hammers’ net.
1998 Gary Mabbutt and Jurgen Klinsmann play their last games for us – and Klinsmann (pictured below) scores in the 1-1 home draw with Southampton.
11. WEDNESDAY
1974 Alan Gilzean scores his last goal in his final appearance for Spurs as we win 2-0 at Newcastle where Terry Lee and Keith Osgood make their debuts.
1997 Paul McVeigh scores his only Spurs goal in his final appearance for us. We lose 2-1 at home to Coventry City.
12. THURSDAY
1984 Steve Archibald bids farewell with a goal in his final Spurs game. We draw 1-1 with Manchester United at White Hart Lane.
2013 A 2-1 win at Stoke City. Clint Dempsey and Emmanuel Adebayor score. Charlie Adam is sent off.

1963 History is made as we become the first British side to win a European trophy – beating Atletico Madrid 5-1 in Rotterdam to lift the European Cup Winners’ Cup. Jimmy Greaves and Terry Dyson both score twice with John White also on target.
1992 Peter Shreeves’ second spell as Spurs boss comes to an end.

1921 We lift the Charity Shield for the first time with a 2-0 win over champions Burnley at White Hart Lane. Goals from Jimmy Cantrell and Bert Bliss.
2005 Canadian international right-back Paul Stalteri (pictured below) signs from Werder Bremen.

1972 We win the UEFA Cup after a second leg 1-1 draw with Wolves at the Lane. Alan Mullery is our goalscorer in his last game for the club.
1983 In Port of Spain we draw 2-2 in a friendly with a Trinidad and Tobago XI. Steve Archibald and Garth Crooks score.

1929 We beat the Royal Navy by the only goal of the game in Malta, scored from the penalty spot by Ted Harper.
1991 The FA Cup is won with an extra time 2-1 success over Nottingham Forest at Wembley thanks to Paul Stewart and a Des Walker own goal.
