GYLFI'S GOOD HABITS

Gylfi Sigurdsson spoke about the importance of getting into the winning habit - after ensuring we did just that to lift the Barclays New York Cup against New York Red Bulls on Tuesday night.
The Iceland international scored a delightful winning goal as we came from 1-0 down to beat the MLS side 2-1 at the Red Bull Arena.
Picking the ball up on the left corner of the box, Gylfi turned inside Markus Holgersson and curled into the top corner.
“It was a good goal and good to set up Gareth as well,” said Gylfi. “It was a nice strike and great to win the game.
“The gaffer had a few words to say at half-time and that gave us a kick-start for the second half. It was great to get the goals and win the game.
“We want to win every game and to get into the habit of winning every game.”
The trophy was the icing on the cake of a successful tour of the USA, unbeaten in tough matches against LA Galaxy, Liverpool and Red Bulls and plenty of work on the training field.
“Overall it’s been very good,” he added. “We’ve trained a lot, got a lot of fitness work in and played three tough games.
“It was great to finish it all with a win.”
