FIRST IMPRESSIONS SO POSITIVE FOR CLINT

Clint Dempsey was impressed with what he saw at Reading.
The USA international joined the squad for the first time and made his Spurs debut as a second half substitute in Sunday’s convincing 3-1 win.
Clint returned from international duty in time to train with his new team-mates for the first time on Friday before taking his place on the bench at the Madejski Stadium.
He replaced Gareth Bale in the 79th minute with us 3-0 up and in control thanks to an outstanding performance that secured our first win of the campaign.
“It was great, especially to go away from home and dominate the game the way the lads did, to keep possession and create chances,” said Clint.
“That’s why I want to be here, it’s a great team with plenty of quality players in the squad.
“It was good to go away with the national team, play two games and get a goal under my belt and then come back and get my first game.
“Now it’s about trying to fight for more minutes and trying to make an impact.”
