Tour 2017 - players join Global team at Tennessee SC

Fri 28 July 2017, 02:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Over 100 young footballers at Tennessee Soccer Club were in for a treat on Thursday.

Not only did they reap the benefits of a session with our Global Coaching team, but the youngsters at this booming soccer club in Franklin, just outside Nashville, were visited by seven members of the squad currently on tour in the US - and legendary former skipper and Club Ambassador Ledley King!

There is a link between Ledley and this Spurs seven.

Harry Kane, Harry Winks, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Kyle Walker-Peters, Tashan Oakley-Boothe, Jaden Brown and Jon Dinzeyi have either graduated from or are part of our Academy system.

All these players represent progression through our Academy - Ledley and Harry have captained the Club, Harry has now captained England - and the coaching behind it every step of the way.

It is this coaching and player development model - the ‘Spurs Way’ - that our Global team take around the world.

The players all gave answers in a special Q&A session after the day’s coaching before signing autographs and posing for a photograph.

Global Coaching Manager Andy Rogers said: “We’ve seen 128 players and 50 coaches at Tennessee Soccer Club, just giving a flavour of what we do as we lool to develop a long-term relationship.

“They are one of the most hospitable clubs we’ve worked with and for them to be able to meet the players - including Harry Kane - was the icing on the cake. It was a fantastic day all-round.”

Later on Thursday, the Global team travelled to Montgomery Bell Academy for a 'coach the coaches' workshop with Nashville Soccer Club, another chance for the Global team to showcase our coaching philosophy.

Twenty players and 60 coaches joined the Global team in association with Nashville SC and the Tennessee Soccer Association.
