GREAT PLAYERS
Les Allen
1959 - 1965
INDUCTED INTO THE HALL OF FAME
A key member of our double-winning side in 1960-61, Les Allen scored 27 goals in that famous campaign and 60 in less than 150 competitive games for the club.
Dagenham-born Allen joined us from Chelsea for £20,000 in December 1959 in a deal that took Johnny Brooks to Stamford Bridge.
Capped at Under-23 level by England, he formed a lethal strikeforce alongside Bobby Smith and Terry Dyson in the double year.
Jimmy Greaves arrival in 1961 restricted his first-team appearances and he left for QPR in July 1965.
He later managed QPR, Woodford Town, Swindon Town and had a spell in Greece. His son, Clive, is another famous Spurs marksman.
Appearances/goals: 119/47 (LG), 15/13 (FAC), 3/1 (EUR)
