Biography

Paul Robinson

England international goalkeeper signed for us in the summer of 2004, from Leeds United.

The Beverley-born player made 119 appearances for Leeds, having made his debut against Chelsea back in 1998.

He really made his mark in season 2000-01, featuring 24 times including Champions League starts against Besiktas, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Lazio (twice).

The Leeds Academy product firmly displaced first-choice Nigel Martyn at the beginning of season 2002-03

Made 44 appearances for us in 2004-05 before suffering a knee injury against Aston Villa in May, which brought an abrupt end to his campaign. Voted Player of the Season by many of our supporter groups and has a fantastic relationship with fans at the Lane - particularly the Park Lane end!

Robbo is also part of a select band of goalkeepers to have scored after his late equaliser for Leeds against Swindon in the Carling Cup second round in September 2003.

Maintained his form in a splendid 2005-06 season where he was our only ever-present and furthered his reputation at England's number one going into the World Cup, where he played in all the games.

Paul added to his goal tally in season 2006-07 - his first coming for Leeds against Swindon - when he netted a free-kick from 80+ yards against Watford in mid-March. He was a Premiership ever-present over the course of the season.

The 2007-08 was more of a mixed campaign for Paul, with 37 appearances of our 57 in all competitions. Nevertheless, he added to his England appearance record with five caps, taking his tally to 41.
