Over the summer holiday period, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation has been working with Waltham Forest Extended Services (North), Greenspace Services, Sound Currents and Ape Media to provide a range of fun activities for children aged 5 - 13.
Schools including Chingford Foundation, Rush Croft Sports College and Lammas have been the hosts to a wide variety of sports from Kwik Cricket and golf to football and football freestyling. Tottenham Hotspur Foundation coaches have led the majority of sessions for the football and multi-sport programmes with hundreds of children all across the borough taking part.
Alongside these Foundation-run activities, external companies Sound Currents and Ape Media have been running their programmes which are inclusive of dance, drama, arts and crafts.
Tottenham Hotspur Foundation has been working with Waltham Forest Extended Services since 2008 to provide physical activity and overall enjoyment for children in school holiday periods. The Foundation aims to continue offering these programmes to children across the borough as we recognise the benefit this has on the children's health, happiness and overall wellbeing.
Kate Laydon, Extended Services Manger at Waltham Forest Borough Council, said: "Tottenham Hotspur Foundation has been working with us as a partner provider since 2008 and assures a quality provision which is fun, well-structured and the staff are reliable. Children and young people tell us how much they enjoy the provision and that they have had the opportunity to try sport and activities which they would not have normally considered."
