Lord Triesman, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State and life-long Spurs fan said: "I'm delighted to be working with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation and look forward to playing a part in what I consider to be one of the most exciting community football projects in Europe.
"I fully expect the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation to reach its target this year of providing half a million sporting opportunities - an outstanding achievement and one that will make a real difference to the lives of children and young people."
The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation was launched at Downing Street in January. An independent charity, it works with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club to deliver football-based community projects in and around North London.
Kathryn Robinson, Chief Executive of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation said: "We welcome Lord Triesman to the Foundation. He brings a wealth of experience and his support in helping us help children and young people realise their potential will be invaluable."
Working alongside the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, David Triesman will assist the newly-formed charity to raise funds and awareness as it works to deliver its target of providing 500,000 sporting opportunities to children and young people in and around North London by the end of the year.
