Hull 1-7 Spurs

The Hull City fans sang their appreciation for boss Silva, but it was gold all the way for us as Harry Kane powered his way to a second successive Premier League Golden Boot with his second hat-trick in three days - and his fifth of the season - as we humbled the already-relegated Tigers 7-1 at the KCOM Stadium.

The striker had put himself in pole position for the top scorer's title when we hammered Leicester City 6-1 on Thursday, but he made sure with one more treble while the team went one better to register our biggest-ever away league win on Sunday.

It means Harry finishes the 2016-17 campaign with 29 league goals and 35 in all competitions - four more than his previous personal best during his breakthrough campaign in 2014-15.

It's the 11th time a Spurs player has won the Golden Boot in English football's top flight - Harry with two of those, with Jimmy Greaves responsible for four.

Dele Alli, Victor Wanyama, Ben Davies - with his first Premier League goal in our colours - and Toby Alderweireld joined the England ace on the scoresheet, with the only blemish a deflected Sam Clucas shot in the second half that robbed Hugo Lloris of a share of Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois' Golden Gloves prize, the Frenchman having played two games less.

All told, we've finished second in the table on 86 points, our highest league placing since 1963 and our biggest-ever points total by some margin - a fine achievement for Mauricio Pochettino's irresistible side.

Lloris shook off a knock picked up in the 6-1 win at Leicester to line up between the sticks, while Kieran Trippier and Christian Eriksen came in for Moussa Sissoko and Mousa Dembele as Mauricio made two changes to the side that started at the King Power Stadium. Former Spurs favourites Michael Dawson and Tom Huddlestone were part of the Hull team.

After a loose early couple of moments, we quickly picked up where we left off at Leicester and took the lead 11 minutes in when Eric Dier broke up Hull's play deep inside their own half, Eriksen immediately pounced on the ball and he fed Kane, who lashed in with his left foot from just outside the area. Andrea Ranocchia then had to come across to block Heung-Min Son's effort as we kept the pressure on.

Two minutes after the opener we had another and it was Kane again. This time, Dier sprayed the ball from left to right and after Trippier cushioned it back across, Kane was on hand to tap in from six yards. A treble inside 14 minutes looked a real possibility when Dele found Kane once again, but the striker dragged his shot wide under pressure.

There was a poignant moment midway through the half when chants of 'Ryan Mason, he's one of our own' from the away end sparked a hearty round of applause from the whole ground as our former midfielder, now at Hull, continues his recuperation from a nasty head injury suffered at the start of this year. Hull goalkeeper David Marshall clawed away Son's chipped effort soon afterwards before we made it 3-0 in first-half stoppage time when Dier played forward to Kane, he picked out Son in the left channel and he in turn cut back for Dele, who turned onto his right foot and drilled beyond Marshall.

Saves: both keepers in action - 51-65mins
Marshall was in the way of Son's effort from the left angle six minutes into the second period and after Oumar Niasse blazed over the stopper was at it again to keep out Dele's chip. At the other end, Lloris dived low to his right to save from Kamil Grosicki and then caught Huddlestone's long-range effort with top-spin above his head.

Hull were having a spell of chances and they took one midway through the second period. The hosts attacked down the left, Jan Vertonghen slid in to block Niasse's shot but Clucas was on hand to convert the loose ball from eight yards via a deflection.

Marshall saved Eriksen's first-time shot well and then denied Dele before Wanyama restored the three-goal cushion on 69 minutes, nodding home the Dane's free-kick from the right at the back post.

Kane completed his hat-trick on 72 minutes when Josh Tymon was caught in possession midway inside Hull territory and Dele sent the striker clean through to stroke past Marshall.

Marshall's palms were stung by Sissoko's piledriver before Davies added his name to the scoresheet with a similarly fierce strike from 20 yards out. It came after Hull failed to clear their lines after a free-kick and Wanyama teed up the left-back.

We were in seventh heaven three minutes from time. Trippier's cross from the right was behind Son in a central position but it ran through for Alderweireld, up from the back, to tap in at the back post.

"I’m so proud. It was fantastic the way we finished the season. I’m very happy for Harry, disappointed for Hugo but I think to be second in the table, fighting on 86 points, it was amazing. Not only the results but the football that we played was very good and now it’s a big challenge for next season. Our dream and our challenge is to be better than this season."

"It couldn't get any better and I'm just delighted for Harry - two hat-tricks in two games, he's on fire! It's a strong end to the season for us which we all wanted and great for the fans who travelled again in great numbers. Last season was a disappointment on the last day against Newcastle, getting beaten 5-1 wasn't like us. That could play on people's minds but our main focus was to get six points from Leicester and today and we did that in good style. It was a strong end to the season for us and we'll regroup, enjoy our summer and look ahead to pre-season."
