Eight wins on the spin - where this run stands in Club history

Thu 27 April 2017, 10:15|Tottenham Hotspur

Our crucial victory at Crystal Palace made it eight-successive victories in the Premier League - now the second-best run in the Club's league history, dating back to our first season in the Football League in 1908-09.

Bill Nicholson's all-conquering team set the benchmark with 13 consecutive league wins in 1960.

That sequence included starting the 1960-61 double-winning campaign with 11 straight wins in the old First Division - still a record, and a run that laid the foundations for the league title. We added the FA Cup to complete the double in May, 1961.

Mauricio Pochettino's team set a new best for the Premier League era of seven with the win against Bournemouth on April 15, a run which equalled the Club's second best sequence achieved on four occasions, the first all the way back in the old Second Division (now Championship) in 1919-20.

Christian Eriksen's fantastic strike at Selhurst Park has now extended the current run to eight.

Here are the stats...
