The Danish playmaker ran onto Mousa Dembele's pass before burying a pinpoint low drive beyond Fraser Forster into the bottom corner from 22 yards.
That made it six goals and an impressive 10 assists in the Premier League for Christian and when Dele slotted home from the penalty spot soon after, the foundations had been laid for what turned out to be a hard-fought win - our 10th on the trot at home in the Premier League.
"I said to Christian straight afterwards that it was a fantastic finish, on his left foot as well, that shows exactly what he’s capable of," said Dele, who is now up to 17 goals in all competitions.
"Christian can score from anywhere on the pitch. He’s got a great finish and he deserves all the credit. He links up play really well, he’s creative and when you can strike a ball like that it really helps the team."
The goals also took the total between Dele, Christian and Heung-Min Son to 41 in all competitions this season, something Mauricio Pochettino fully appreciates, not least with Harry Kane sidelined.
"That's great," said the manager. "You will always miss your main striker and someone like Harry Kane, he’s one of the best strikers in the world but all we can do now is try to take the games in the same direction and try to win.
"I have full confidence in the squad and football is always about the whole team."
