Richarlison has opened up on the difficulties he faced with his mental health after the 2022 World Cup.

Having enjoyed a very strong tournament in Qatar, in which he scored three goals including a stunning acrobatic effort against Serbia, Richy has spoken about hitting a period of depression in the months after the tournament in a very emotional interview with ESPN.

Citing off-the-field issues, the forward admitted that he had felt that he had hit his peak and limit, and contemplated giving up on his footballing dreams in the months that followed.

However, after taking steps with the support of the Club to speak to a therapist, Richy explained it was the best help he'd ever had in his life, with his conversations with the therapist completing changing his mindset.

And the transformation for the 26-year-old has been clear for the world to see as the Richarlison that had enjoyed four superb seasons at Everton, came to life in Lilywhite and appeared much more the player that had been so impressive on Merseyside.
