Team news from Arsenal | Timber the only doubt for Sunday

Jurrien Timber is the only doubt for Mikel Arteta ahead of Sunday's north London derby at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (2pm UK).

The defender suffered a serious knee injury against Nottingham Forest on the opening day of the season back in August but returned to action for Arsenal's Under-21 side in midweek.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Arteta was asked for the latest on Timber. "We have to make that decision tomorrow after the training session. He’s very close, I don’t know if this is too early, but he’s very close now.”

Asked about his selection headaches with a full squad to select from, Arteta said: “It’s good headaches though. Yes, you feel for the players a bit as well because of how much they want it and how much everyone wants to start and contribute to the team and impact the team in the right way, so it’s always difficult and it’s part of the job."
