My Spurs Debut

The section where we invite Spurs fans to pinpoint their first ever visit to White Hart Lane and detail the players who captured their imagination in those early days. This month, Alexander Robson from Dunfermline recalls a European tie four years ago.

Somewhat spontaneously my friends and I decided to go to watch Heart of Midlothian at home to Spurs in the Europa League at the start of the 2011-12 season.

There were five of us including me and after getting hold of some tickets in the away end, we went along to what was, for all of us, our first ever European match night. All bar one of us had watched SPL games live before, but never a Euro contest.

I’ve been a Spurs supporter since 1988 when I read about the tremendous Scottish influence on the club over the years, with the likes of Dave Mackay and Steve Archibald having worked wonders during their time in North London.
