My Spurs Debut

The section where we invite Spurs fans to pinpoint their first ever visit to White Hart Lane and detail the players who captured their imagination in those early days. This month, Leanne Hazelton, from Chigwell, winds the clock back a little over a year to her family’s first experience of a Premier League matchday.

What an amazing day we had when we visited Spurs back in August, 2014! My husband Paul, our two boys and I managed to get a family pass to go along for the club’s match against Queens Park Rangers and, bearing in mind we’d never ever been to a live sporting event like that before, it was a rather exhilarating experience to say the least!

Right from the moment we arrived at the train station, we felt at home among the Spurs fans. I couldn’t believe the amount of people walking around with Tottenham scarves draped around their necks and there seemed to be kids everywhere running around in replica kits!

It was a bright, sunny day, which added to the feel-good factor as we approached the stadium. We had to stick together as we got nearer with more and more people around but we had no trouble finding the turnstiles in Paxton Road.
