2021/22 Code of Conduct - General Admission Areas


  • Please ensure you are fit and well to attend the match. If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms; a high temperature; a new, continuous cough; or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste, or have been asked to self-isolate, please do not attend
  • Plan your travel to the ground appropriately

  • Arrive in good time to go through the necessary entry procedures, which will take longer than at previous matches

  • Please ensure you have downloaded and registered the NHS App (and have a valid NHS COVID Pass as a result of being fully vaccinated or receiving a negative PCR or rapid lateral flow test no more than 48 hours prior to kick-off

  • If you have an Apple device, add your pass to your Apple Wallet. If you have an Android device, ensure you have a screengrabbed, downloaded, or printed copy of your pass

  • If you are not using the NHS COVID Pass, please ensure you have the required proof of fully vaccinated status or that you have received a negative PCR or rapid lateral flow test no more than 48 hours prior to kick-off

  • Ensure you have completed our ID validation process so that we can account for who is in the stadium on matchday

  • Ensure your digital ticket is loaded on your smartphone and can be readily displayed

  • While face mask wearing is not mandatory, we would advise fans to wear a face mask or covering on entry to and exit from the stadium, when queueing and on concourses, except when you are eating or drinking. Our staff will also be wearing face coverings at all times for your and their safety

  • Remember all payments are cashless

  • Food and drink (non-alcoholic) can be consumed in your seat in the bowl and doing so will contribute to easing numbers on concourses

  • Occupy your designated seat only

  • Wait for a clear gangway when leaving your seat

  • Observe the ‘brush past’ safety etiquette - turning away from other fans when passing them - to reduce face-to-face contact

  • Maintain good hand hygiene, using the sanitiser dispensers located in numerous areas of the stadium and toilets, and avoid unnecessary contact with commonly touched surfaces, such as handles and railings, wherever it is safe to do so

  • Observe respiratory etiquette - always cover your mouth and nose if needing to cough or sneeze and dispose of tissues carefully and safely

  • Supervise any children attending with you and ensure that they and others attending with you comply with this Code of Conduct at all times

  • Avoid passing a ball directly to a player if it leaves the field of play

  • Be respectful of your fellow supporters and Club staff, particularly those in close proximity, including excessive shouting / singing / celebrations as that increases the risk of transmission of COVID-19. Please avoid hugs, high-fives and any unnecessary close contact with people who are not known to you

  • Comply with all other relevant guidance and rules related to COVID-19 protection, including those of the government and public health authorities

  • Avoid gathering outside the stadium before or after the match in a way that breaches instructions of stewards or other Club staff

  • Follow any instructions or requests given to you by stewards or other stadium staff to ensure the stadium is carefully managed for everyone’s safety

  • If you feel ill or develop and COVID-19 symptoms while at the match, please contact your nearest steward who will direct you to the appropriate medical facility.
